The hand extraction of DNA is still effective in the era of more advanced technologies. I had the chance to manually extract DNA and RNA and to do gel electrophoresis, including setting up and running the gel, gradient PCR, regular PCR, and primer design, among other tasks. Working in the lab taught me a lot, but the two things that mattered most were lab ethics and how to pipette properly because failing to do any of these things might lead to inaccurate results. -

I was able to learn more about the use of extraction machines and laminar flow as a result. The best and most enjoyable aspect of the PCR was creating the master mix. I worked in the molecular lab on the labeling of the samples, the laminar flow system, the extraction equipment, and the master mix creation.
