Long before anyone mentioned the word "Food Truck", Proof Woody was the first outdoor News Kiosk retail business in the UAE. At its height, Proof Woody had a network of dozen outlets across five of Dubai's business parks, including the DIFC, Media City, Festival City, Healthcare City and Jebel Ali. This innovative retail business, which sold outdoor advertising as its principal source of bottom line revenue, had a turnover of AED 100 million during its decade of trading. The retail network was forced to close progressively during the global financial crisis 2008-09 as the Great Recession practically eliminated outdoor advertising budgets overnight. The owners finally retired the business in 2010 with no debt and having achieved an annual average net profit of 20% over the lifetime of the business.

Sean was headhunted from the Financial Times in Cairo to establish Bloomberg News & TV in the Middle East, with the inaugural regional bureau in Dubai. Over the course of a decade Sean built the U.S. media company’s Middle East network of news bureau offices from Algiers to Cairo, and from Beirut to Tehran, culminating in 2008 with Dubai being designated as the firm’s fourth global hub.

Led the FT's political and economic coverage of Egypt for two years in the tumultuous 1990s, which included 2 one-on-one interviews with the former President Hosni Mubarak, as well as interviews with most of the region's Political and Industry leaders.

Sean was co-founder and Artistic Director of Punchbag Productions, which produced award winning theatre and television productions for presentation in Ireland and UK markets. Punchbag won the top award at the 1992 Edinburgh Festival - a 'Scotsman Fringe First' Award - {www.irishplayography.com}. During the period 1992-1995, international secondments included producing a series of Documentaries with BBC TV, and Directing a season of theatre productions in San Francisco, California.
