I joined TenSixteen Bio at its inception to lead the statistical genetics efforts. Part of the Data & Genomics team, we utilized deep genetic sequence data and innovative computational approaches to call somatic mutations in the hematopoietic cells to identify individuals with clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) and better understand downstream disease risk modulated by CHIP, with the overall goal of developing therapeutics to reduce clonal expansion and disease progression rates.

I worked as a statistical geneticist within the Discovery Genomics team, where I was involved in the ideation and development of multiple company concepts incubated under Foresite Labs. Additionally I designed and executed genetic studies using large biobank data to assist with the target discovery and validation efforts, primarily in the cardiometabolic and inflammation disease areas. The results I produced for one such incubation project contributed to creation of TenSixteen Bio.

As a statistical geneticist within the Clinical Pharmacogenetics group, I provided human genetics expertise to clinical teams in the cardiometabolic, diabetes and infectious disease therapeutic areas to aid developing strategies for patient selection and stratification, preparing project approval documents and regulatory submissions. Designed genetic association studies using Merck’s clinical trial datasets to better understand genetic basis of pharmacokinetic variability, drug response, toxicity, and adverse events.

I worked under supervision of Dr. Christopher Newton-Cheh and served as one of the the primary analyst of the CHARGE consortium blood pressure (BP) and EKG working groups to execute GWAS of BP and left ventricular hypertrophy.
