As a software developer at Seðlabanki Íslands, the central bank of Iceland, I have been working on core systems that handle currency fixing, account payments, financial data and SEPA payments for over 21 years. I have extensive experience in software development, systems design, and project management, using C#, VB, T-SQL, and agile methodologies.I am passionate about software development and its impact on society and the economy. I have been involved in data acquisition and analysis of extremely sensitive data, such as the domestic debt of every single Icelandic company in the aftermath of the crash of 2008. I have also designed and constructed a system that receives daily reports on all active derivatives contracts managed by Icelandic banks, analyzes the data and publishes it. I enjoy working with complex and challenging problems that require creativity, innovation, and collaboration. I am impressed by the Icelandic startup scene, its spirit and incredibly flat structure, and I love strategy, the evolution of society and general future abstractions.
