I joined a research group as a junior at Western Washington University where I worked on data analysis for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells. For my master's my core project, which became my thesis, was the method development of a constrained density functional tight binding computation followed by a configuration interaction. I presented this project several times, to a committee, to my group, as a poster presentation at WWU and for the center for institutional research computing hosted at Washington State University. During this time I learned both Python and Fortran and gained an understanding of quantum mechanical modeling methods, mainly Density Functional Theory and Density Functional Tight Binding.
