Colleagues describe him as "Kush has repeatedly shown an an amazing ability of getting things done in the face of technically & organizationally challenging problems. He is very good at quickly ramping up and becoming an expert in complex and highly technical areas. Overall I had a great time working with Kush and think his skills and temperament make him a great team player." and "Kush and I worked together at Loon for many years. In that time Kush was instrumental in getting multiple new flight vehicle systems developed, tested, qualified and rolled into production. These included both hardware and software systems as well as new processes and procedures.
During the planning phase of these new systems Kush would sit with the engineering teams and help develop, write, review and manage approvals for highly detailed test plans. He would think through how both HW and SW systems were evolving and how this might ripple out through fleet management automation and systems. His insight into how the backend systems would react to evolving hardware was critical for being able to get the new systems developed, flown and qualified.
As HW and SW evolved Kush was a great partner in reviewing existing procedures and processes and driving updates to them as needed. Especially in light of radically new hardware that was coming online this was essential as procedures needed significant updates as hardware changed so dramatically. Kush played a critical role in ensuring that the flight engineering community was ready for new hardware as it was getting ready for fleet introduction.
When it came time to fly major tests Kush was a key resource for the flight engineers on duty as he could quickly address anything that came up by surprise. His detailed review of the engineering test plans meant that he was able to respond to any issues that came up either at the system or procedure level.
It was a great pleasure to work with Kush over our years together at Loon. When the time came to introduce major changes in our flight systems Kush was a truly outstanding partner in the process. His expansive knowledge of systems, his ability to think forward as to how systems may react and his calm demeanor when managing anomalies made him a crucial part of evolving Loon."
