With over 17 years of experience in automotive industry Sameer has worked on all stages of projects from conceptualization and requirement creations to prototyping and idea refinement to product development and monetization. Sameer has extensive experience in Infotainment system development, Vehicle diagnostics, Over-the-air software programming, Emission software and body controller & gateway development. Over his career, Sameer has worked at Tier-1 supplier and multiple OEMs in three continents. Sameer brings over 11 years of experience in infotainment development and consumer electronics integration. Sameer has lead numerous Infotainment and Telematics teams for Mercedes-Benz and General Motors Cadillac brand. In his latest foray, Sameer delivered the groundbreaking industry first 38” curved freeform OLED Infotainment system for MY2021 Escalade. With numerous industry first features and technologies the product has been perceived extremely well by the customers and media. Sameer continues to work on next breakthroughs for Cadillac vehicles in upcoming model years. Before joining General Motors in 2016, Sameer was involved in development and launch of multiple products for Mercedes-Benz vehicle worldwide. This included the Mercedes-Me, Mercedes-Benz Companion, Mercedes-Benz CarPlay, Digital DriveStyle Drive kit and smartDrive products. While working for Daimler A.G. in Stuttgart, Germany, Sameer gained significant experience in vehicle diagnostics and Over-the-air software programming. During his stint at Daimler A.G., Sameer also worked on a state of the art drive-by-wire project “Secure Propulsion using Advanced Redundant Control” sponsored by European Union.Academically Sameer holds a Masters degree in Embedded Systems with specialization in Automotive electronics from University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, Germany. He also has a Bachelors degree in Information Technology.Published Thesis: Analysis and integration of wireless technology for remote real-time data analysis, vehicle diagnostics and ECU flashing.

As part of the assignment, I was responsible for implementing an end to end prototype solution. Vehicle side infrastructure for streaming diagnostics information was created using ETAS VCI hardware platform. This information was logged and used for off-board diagnostics. I also implemented the backend software to request the diagnostic information, analyze this data and perform corrective measures. EngineeringDaimler Ag Nov 2006 - Apr 2007Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, DeWorked on the “Secure Propulsion using Advanced Redundant Control” (SPARC) project. This was a European Union 6th generation program to substantially improve traffic safety and efficiency for heavy goods vehicles and passenger vehicles by developing x-by-wire technologies. As part of this project I gained significant insights into Flex-ray network designs, best practices and development tools. I worked extensively on software for a CAN to Flexray gateway for Radar, Camera and GPS driver assistance ECUs.
