Through this period working with artist, Ginny Singh, I designed branding materials: business cards, compliment slips, various social media campaigns to advertise the artist’s exhibitions as well as flyers. This allowed me to enhance my Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills, as well as my ability to adhere to the client’s brief. More importantly, producing these final designs gave me the opportunity to further explore the design process from presenting initial ideas to the client, as well as adapting proposals to the client’s preferences to create the best design possible.

10 week programme for Women+ of Colour in Leadership - Won the competition to design a PR Campaign for The Body Coach

My first week was focused on learning the basics of space & anthropometrics, expressing space & its contents in 2D drawing and general understanding of practical as well as aesthetic aspects of Interior Design. In the second week, I took up the challenge of designing the interiors of a wardrobe space for one of the company’s live projects. In the design task, I researched the parameters that govern wardrobe design, located all the design elements and created a material palette for the same. I presented my design with relevant 2D drawings, concept ideas, mood boards and took the initiative to explore 3D design software to best represent my design project.

In July 2020, I completed my certification for a Silver Industry Cadet, as part of the Jacobs Virtual work experience. In the program I developed my understanding and was given an insight into the world of engineering and design: everything from the roles of a Project Manager and planning a timeline for the project; the initial designs from the interior designers; to the precautions taken by the health and safety managers to ensure everyone is safe on-site.
