I am a caste-privileged Punjabi-Sikh queer community activist and a dual-degree graduate at the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A in Public Health and Molecular and Cellular Biology with an emphasis in Neurobiology. I am looking for opportunities to apply my skills and knowledge in research, project management, and healthcare.Prior to working as an Associate Researcher at UC DREAMS LAB, I co-authored a paper on the effect of social stress and trust on cognition and health in American adults with the Undergraduate Lab at Berkeley (ULAB). I also work as a Registered Behavior Technician at Butterfly Effects, where I co-create and implement treatment plans for autistic children, focusing on their self-expression, independence, and social skills. Through these experiences, I have developed competencies in youth leadership, communication, and data analysis, as well as a deep fascination for the biochemical and neurological sciences. My passion for equitable public safety and my love for the arts drive me to seek creative and innovative solutions that alleviate stress and promote well-being in a community and interdependent setting. I am motivated by teamwork, collaboration, and collective visions and goals fostered with care. I aspire to use my community organizing and health care skills to make a positive impact on the lives of marginalized and oppressed populations.

Associate ResearcherUc Dreams Lab Sep 2022 - Dec 2023UC Berkeley's UC DREAMS Lab is focused on understanding the nature of prejudice, bias, and inequality development across numerous social groups, such as Black Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, women, and poor individuals. The lab applies methods from social, cultural, and developmental psychology to understand how features of our social and cultural context shape peoples’ attitudes and behaviors in ways that work to reify existing inequalities and stagnate change.Under the supervision of Victoria Keating and Assistant Professor Arianne Eason, I served as an undergraduate researcher. I conducted thorough literature reviews to guide the research direction and identify gaps in the field. Additionally, I gathered data through surveys and organized the collected data into variables suitable for the subsequent data analysis stage. The primary aim of this research was to comprehend the connections formed by children, both Native and non-Native, with their Native counterparts.

Our collaborative efforts spanned the entire research process, commencing with the conception of the research focus, conducting thorough literature reviews, and culminating in data analysis. The focus of our research group shifted from individual stress variables to community trust variables, which led us to conduct an extension study building upon an original study.
