I have worked as studio manager in busy prepress environments for over 20 years, my work encompasses and requires expertise in various printing processes:Creating/preparing/amending artwork to ensure all spot colours, layers and cutting paths are in the correct format. Imposing artwork for print. Preflightling artwork to ensure images are the correct resolution and in the correct colourspace. Proofing ripped files to clients and ensuring any potential issues are brought to attention. Overseeing projects to ensure branding integrity is maintained from artwork stage through to finishing stage. Preparing white ink layers for printing on clear substrates and spot layers for UV varnish and special colours. Creating supporting artwork from supplied files, following brand guidelines and themes. Restoring old and damaged photographs (removing scratches, re-colouring etc.)During this time, I have also spent a lot of time in the production departments, working on various printing presses and finishing equipment, which has given me even more knowledge and expertise of the complete print processes:Ricoh C-7100 Digital, HP Latex Roll-Fed, Fiery EFI Flat Bed, Litho print (Heidelberg SM74-10 colour perfector, SM52-5 colour, PM46-2Colour), guillotining, folding, book binding (stitched, PUR and wiro), collating, sequential numbering and personalisation (data-merge from Excel spreadsheet for mail drops), lamination, die-cutting/creasing (traditional platen and modern Zund), digital print. My previous work as a mechanical engineer has also provided me with meticulous attention to detail.
