Hello! I'm Gurshaan, and I am a final year BA Applied Languages student at the University of Portsmouth, specialising in Spanish and Italian.My time at the University of Portsmouth, including an exchange year between Italy and Spain, has really consolidated my passion for languages and applied linguistic studies while also helping me to become an adaptable individual, as my degree has encompassed various fields beyond Modern Languages (e.g., Historical linguistics, Anthropology and Business strategy).I am dedicated to my field, and am currently making the most of my final year at University to continue diligently refining my linguistic skills as an aspiring translator and interpreter.Beyond academia, I am an avid reader of genres such as historical non-fiction and Hispano-American literature, and I love to expand my perspectives by regularly engaging with different forms of media from around the globe.It is key to me personally to stay up-to-date with world politics, and to have general cultural awareness, which I believe is key as I aspire to enter a field which is increasingly diverse and relies on strong intercultural skills.All in all, I am open to new opportunities and am truly excited to see what the future holds as I soon venture into my professional career after graduation in July 2025.
