Contact me at gsg5240@psu.edu. Dominate the controllable. There are many things in life that we cannot control, many aspects of our day-to-day that may negatively affect us if we allow them to. However, those things will only affect us if we ALLOW them to. We have agency to control how we respond to those uncontrollable events, and although we may be negatively affected in the moment, I believe that adversity only makes an individual stronger. My greatest strength is my resilience and ability to work through tough times; I take pride in my determination and work ethic. Currently I am a student at Penn State Law School and expect to graduate in May 2025. While pursuing my academic goals, I am also involved in a number of student organizations. I am serving my cohort as the ABA representative in the Student Body Association, as well as the Events Coordinator of the PSL Sports and Entertainment Law Association, and the 1L Coordinator for the PSL Black Law Student Association (BLSA). Additionally, I am an active member of Phi Alpha Delta, Phi Delta Phi, Asian Asian Pacific American Law Society (APALSA), Corporate Law Society (CLS), First Generation Law Student Association (FGLSA), as well as a handful of Student Body Association committees. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse with a BS in Economics and Professional & Organizational Communications in December of 2021. In the past, I have been employed as a CEEP fellow working on voter education, registration, and mobilization. In addition, I have also worked as a peer tutor at my undergrad institution, UW-L. Outside of work, I was a member of the Eagle's football team and co-chair of the Asian Student Organization. In my spare time, I mentored freshmen students as part of the Multicultural Validation Program and the Multicultural Business Scholars program, respectively. I hope to utilize my Juris Doctorate to leave a lasting legacy. I also am ambitious about eventually working in a public office for the betterment of the underserved.

Hakima Scholars Undergraduate MentorUniversity Of Wisconsin-La Crosse Feb 2019 - May 2020La Crosse, Wisconsin AreaI was asked to be an undergraduate mentor for the initial Hakima Scholars Group at UW-L by its advisor, Thomas Harris. The Hakima Group was created for young males of color, in an effort to assist them through their first year at a PWI such as UW-L. During my time as mentor I would attend weekly meetings, one with the group as a whole and another with Thomas. We would discuss ways the group could get involved on campus, the struggles of being a minority in a PWI and brought in guest speakers from around the community to reflect and share their experiences. It was unforgettable opportunity and one I am extremely grateful Thomas asked me to be a part of. -
Summer Intern (Critical Thinking, Team, Ccap, Confidentiality)Wisconsin State Public Defender'S Office Jun 2019 - Aug 2019819 N. 6Th St Milwaukee, WiOver the course of this internship I was given the opportunity to work with every department within the Public Defender's Office. I spent time with receptionists, answering phone calls and redirecting messages. I worked with secretaries, filing out e-forms and both intake and outtake. Next, we worked with paralegals. During this time I visited the jails, met with inmates, assisted on DPA and Diversion cases, as well as any other project the office was undergoing (such as updating the out of county database for resources such as AODA, Mental Health services and more). I was also given the opportunity to sit in on a few preliminary court and trial hearings. In the last three weeks of the internship I worked directly with SPD Investigators and Attorneys. During this time I went along to conduct witness interviews, submit and request records and divulge other information on clients. With the Attorneys, I was given the opportunity to sit in on trial hearings and learn about legal strategy. I have deepend not only my knowledge but also my understanding of the criminal justice system. I also developed a great appreciation for government workers and the roles that each member of the office would play in a court case. I think most importantly from this internship, I learned how to work effectively as a team member and as a leader.
