I founded Sura Systems Private Limited (SuraSys) in August 2006. My company specializes in developing Machine Learning products and solutions. I have developed solutions for 25+ clients, most of them based in US. During 2012 - 2013, I developed a Sentiment Analysis engine, Near Duplicate Detection, legal eDiscovery engine and Record Linkage and named entity resolution for three US based clients all of which involved Big Data. In 2015, I developed a Machine Vision based photogrammetry app for the Android from first principles for measuring foot and shoe sizes for a client. I also architected an end to end OCR invoice solution with a deep learning engine for acquiring updating training data. During 2016 - 2019, I have delivered Machine Learning and Deep Learning solutions for lead conversion likelihood and classification, architected van pool sharing application and a wearable tracker. I have worked and consulted on projects involving Image Segmentation, Speech and Text Recognition, Handwriting Verification (in Android), developed and implemented Forex, Commodities and Equities Strategies among others. I play the role of a CTO for my clients most of whom are startups in US and help them quickly build their Machine Learning and Deep Learning portfolio, especially during the initial rounds of funding. I lead a team of developers in Chennai and hire developers and designers in US and Europe on a need based basis for the projects I work on and consult.

I was member, research staff. I guided four MS theses in the areas of Coding theory, Cryptography, Pattern recognition and Artificial Intelligence and many MCA / B.Tech projects. As part of our drive to become self-sufficient financially, I was involved in many consultancies and projects with defense agencies and other institutions.

I joined AU-KBC Research Centre early. I helped in formulating the interdisciplinary MS (By Research) program. I founded the Cryptography and Statistical Pattern Recognition Lab and led the research initially in Coding theory and later in Cryptography and Statistical Pattern Recognition. I supervised 8 MS students in Coding Theory, Cryptography and Machine Learning. I took up many consultancy projects for example Stream Cipher Design for Centre for Artificial Intelligence (CAIR Bangalore), Machine Vision based Package Inspection for defects for ITC among others.

I was an NBHM postdoctoral working at Matscience and based in Spic Mathematical Institute (now Chennai Mathematical Institute), Chennai

I worked initially in generalizing Baranyai's theorem to the subspaces over finite fields. Formally, whoever was the Department Chairman was my supervisor. Since there was no one working on Combinatorics, I identified research problems myself. After a stint in Trinity College (1992 - 1993) with the Srinivasa Ramajuan Studentship, I was back at IISc working on Extremal Combinatorics. I proved a 15 year old conjecture of Frankl and Furedi which generalized a very old result of deBruijn and Erdos. This was published in Journal of Combinatorial Theory Series A. My Ph D work revolved around this proof and was done without any external guidance.
