Recruited and grew two new agile teams from the ground up to deliver on technology transformation of the Care Center Applications, API Services, and Integrations. These applications are utilized by the Personal Operators of the seniors to remotely update contacts on their smartphones, hail a ride for them, or connect them with other services or loved ones. Put together a roadmap in consultation with business stakeholders, product, and cross-functional teams to lay out a plan to make a case for resources needed and provide visibility of the vision and progress.Leading the delivery of transformed applications of 30+ applications into a single pane of glass experience through a cloud, microservices, docker/K8-based architecture, and AI models to enhance automation and utility. Established processes like alerting and monitoring norms to increase observability of current systems and bake them into the new applications being developed. This was accomplished by enhancing logging and building monitors on top of Datadog or Application insights and having them hooked directly to Teams channels. This has led the team to become proactive, rather than reactive thus making room for us to focus on the new work.Mentoring and motivating the team to learn new technologies, grow them in their career, and champion them to foster a team spirit of authenticity and accountability. Focusing on weekly 1:1 conversations and regular training and coaching opportunities by providing stretch goals.Work with vendors, procurement, and legal to negotiate renewal and consolidation of contractors for software products, services, and tools. Responsible for all backend services and API’s that are used by SmartDrive IoT devices, web/mobile applications, and partners. Collaborated with Product, UX, and Technical teams to add functionality and create 30+ new back end services for the release of a newer IoT device. - Services are using .NET and Node.js and are hosted at the data center, Azure or AWS cloud. Worked with Product Owner to provide input for stories and backlog items. Worked with management as a development lead to assemble scrum teams of 7 each with the right skillsets and acted as scrum master to help the development team deliver. Established architecture patterns and processes in conjunction with architects, program managers, and DevOps teams. This resulted in a 4x increase in release frequency and improved quality metrics. 100’s of thousands of IoT devices act as a platform in the truck interacting with engine computer, onboard GPS, cameras, accelerometer, and other inputs. Over 15 million+ data points are sent to backend services daily that keep growing as install base increases. Leveraging a cloud and web services based architecture, scaled the existing services to support 5x – 10x more transactions and increase reliability.Took a 100+ page Requirement document for On-Demand video events ordering system and worked with Product to convert it into User Stories. Designed, planned and led the implementation of the solution. Added a new six-digit revenue stream that keeps growing and provided the company with competitive catchup. - NET based web services, Hangfire, and Javascript/ ASP.NET front end hosted at the data center.Directly managed 5 developers and enjoyed a weekly 1:1 with them. Encouraged and guided developers to grow into senior developers and architect roles. Coached the team in transition from .NET to full stack development. Participated in the hiring of new talent.
