Pinnacle produces and distributes business critical documents in print and electronic form, for Fortune 500 utility, financial services, trust, healthcare, insurance and collection companies. With facilities in Birmingham, Atlanta and Phoenix, Pinnacle distributes over 30 million documents each month. Pinnacle's web applications are written using Java and Ruby/Rails whereas the document production applications utilize HP's Exstream document composition engine, and Python to integrate with SEFAS for post-composition and shop automation. Pinnacle is primarily a Unix shop running Solaris & Linux, and utilizes several databases including Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL.Although my primary focus was managing the workload and deliverables of the software development team, I also implemented many process improvements within the organization. As a working manager, I developed solutions for our clients and helped mentor junior employees. I improved the workflow with other departments by optimizing our issue/ticket software and implemented time-tracking metrics so that we could project resource availability and as well as for capacity planning. I documented our workflow and procedures for SOC2 compliance. Most of the technical solutions I developed were written in Python 2.7. With a software development organization previously devoid of Software Quality Assurance, I implemented a QA department from staffing to determining appropriate methods and procedures for effective software testing.

The Patient Portal allows hospitals and providers to achieve ‘meaningful use’ measures required to qualify for funding under the HITECH portion of the ARRA stimulus package. By integrating to disparate clinical systems, the Patient Portal facilitates interaction between a patient and caregivers by allowing patients to schedule appointments, submit follow-up questions to their physicians, pay bills, receive test results and discharge summaries, and access their complete medical history.Built a distributed engineering team of 25 resources. Drove daily activities of multiple teams. Helped transition organization from waterfall methodology to Agile/Scrum. Introduced automated software testing to MEDSEEK, interacted with all Patient Portal customers at various levels.

SourceRad was SourceMedical’s Radiology Information System whose market differentiators included an integrated Billing module as well as being a hosted/ASP solution. Charged with building the new flagship RIS product (V3), project managed development activities, successfully integrated offshore team, provided sales support, client support, demos, assisted with new feature pricing, competitive analysis, defined processes between engineering and Configuration Management & QA, led integration to ScImage's PACS as well as PowerScribe for dictation.

ePower was a set of J2EE web portals for patients(insured members), providers, and employers. Responsible for and involved in all facets of this new product from concept to delivery including requirements definition, development, project management, building/recruiting/motivating the teams, sales support and client support. Built team of 25 consisting of architects, graphic designers, web developers and software testers. Successfully implemented offshore development model with 10 resources. The success of this enterprise-scale OO application at CSC/HPS was a catalyst for rehabilitating the organization's software infrastructure and introducing new technologies such as J2EE and SOA.

-Member of first project within BellSouth organization which successfully achieved SEI’s CMM level 2 status. Project subsequently became springboard for entire IT organization to reach level 3.-Developed OO application for rating of products and services comprising over 3300 function points, Product Catalog. Roles were Smalltalk developer, Sybase database administrator, technical writer, and eventually became team lead for production support phase. Participated in function point assessments. -Led team of business analysts and requirements managers through planning and analysis of several initiatives.
