Gus Morrow is a '22 NC State University graduate. B.S. Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management. Passionate about connecting people with nature through recreation. at Navitat Canopy Adventures. Colleagues describe him as "One of the greatest parts of being a teacher is getting to know your students as adults - it is a gift, really. Gus Morrow is one of those gifts. I do not know that I have ever taught a young person who I thought more of than Gus.
Gus was an absolute joy to have in class. With a strong work ethic, he went above and beyond in everything I asked him to do. He balanced his academic life with athletics flawlessly. As an adult he mirrors the way he was when I taught him: hard working and conscientious, works well in groups and independently, is kind and compassionate. Gus has the kind of character to which we should all aspire.
I have had the honor of traveling internationally with Gus several times. I have watched him embrace different cultures and ideas each day and learn and grow from those interactions. In situations where he did not have to, he took care of others and made us all proud.
Gus has a unique ability to make others feel valued and understood. His unwavering enthusiasm and sense of humor make him a joy to be around. He makes others better just by being himself and is probably unaware that he has that affect on people. I know this to be the case because not only am I a better teacher for having had Gus in my class but I am a better person for having him in my life as an adult.
He will go on from here and be successful in everything he does as he does not know any other way to be. He is going to change the world in ways I can't even being to imagine and I am so glad I have a front row seat to watch it unfold! I could not be more proud of the man Gus has grown to be nor recommend him more.
