As the Team Manager for IT within CBITE, I am responsible for all IT programmes of study delivered out of Wintec. I have 28 staff members reporting directly to me. My duties include strategic planning; change management; performance management; financial and budgetary management; product planning & development; asset management; stakeholder engagement/networking and project management.

Business Analysis, Project Management and Project Administration of a project involving a virtual distributed team of developers. The technologies used for this project included Java JEE, Spring Boot, Angular JS, Bootstrap CSS, D3.JS, MongoDB and ElasticSearch. This development used agile project management methodologies.

I worked at the Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation and spent 3 ½ years there as one of the project managers for the implementation of new CRM systems, Data Warehouse, SharePoint (intranet), Web Portals and Business Intelligence software. Functionally, I also acted as Manager for IT at ESITO, coordinating work with several external suppliers, preparing and managing budgets and IT plans & roadmaps. I reported directly to the Commercial Manager and directly to the CEO. Occasionally, I was required to design and develop bespoke software, databases and BI systems using VB and SSIS.

The Te Wai o Rona Diabetes Prevention Strategy was the largest study of its kind in the world, investigating the degree to which community based life-style intervention can prevent the onset of Diabetes Type 2 in the Maori population. My role was to lead a team of 5: one Business Analyst, two Developers, one Data Entry Clerk and one Assistant all seconded from a variety of departments in DHB and the University of Auckland. The team was responsible for developing data capture, data storage & reporting processes, procedures, policies and strategy. I also worked closely with Maori health providers and the team of 20-Maori healthcare workers who delivered the intervention. I reported to and was a member of the Senior Management Committee; the Funding Partnership Committee and the Medical and Scientific Committee. I liaised directly with a large number of internal and external stakeholders. Occasionally, I was required to design and develop bespoke software, databases and reporting systems using VB, TSQL and SQL Server DTS Packages.

The PM part of this role included the planning and implementation of projects in accordance with the Genesis Project Management Framework.A lot of the BA-work involved use-case development, process modelling and data modelling. It also included producing functional specifications, requesting statements of work, approving the statement and then requesting technical specifications and evaluating them against business requirements before approval and then liaising with subcontractors.

I was responsible for application and database requirements analysis; responsible for the development of functional and technical specs; responsible for overseeing the development of smaller projects and the project management & delivery of some of the outsourced larger projects all within Energy Trading and Dispatch. The largest project being 9-months in duration and involved developing and implementing energy trading software. Part of my role included hands-on software and data-systems development.

Business/Pricing Analyst: Responsible for commercial & domestic pricing for electricity customers, pricing for commercial gas customers, the development of new tariffs for targeted regions, reconciling network invoices, network reporting, the development & documentation of pricing models & procedures and tariff profitability analysis. I also became responsible for gathering requirements and writing functional and technical specifications for bespoke energy pricing applications.
