CV Gustaaf Boon Graduated as mechanical engineer at the K.U.Leuven. Staid some years at the university and made a Ph D thesis on ‘The dynamic behaviour of turbo-generator foundations’. Joined Laborelec (the R&D centre of Electrabel/GDFSUEZ now) in 1983, and worked in the vibration group for 15 years. Within the vibration group he was mainly involved with problems of steam and gas turbines.Since 1998 he was the account manager for generation from Laborelec, what means that he was in charge of the client relations with generation. (And thus all kinds of power generation plants). He also coordinated the generation research projects. In April 2006 he joined Electrabel Metier Generation as manager for Carbon Capture and Storage and Technology Watch Coordination. On February 1 2010 he joined the Direction R&D of GDF SUEZ as Corporate Technology Intelligence Officer, dealing with the general coordination of Technology Watch for the different Groups activities. Since 2007 he teaches a course on thermal power plants at the University of Brussel(VUB). Since 2011 this course is in collaboration with the ULB in an international masters program. Bruface. Since 2013 he teaches a course on Electrical Energy Generation at the University of Gent.
