About Gustavo Augusto Kopp De Lima

As a Brazilian public school and first-generation student, I've always dared to dream big. I learned English by myself at 14, founded my first startup at 15, and was selling snacks to fund my Harvard & MIT presentation trip at 17. Last year, I applied to Babson College, one of the world's best business schools, and was recently admitted with a full-ride scholarship to pursue my studies in Business Administration & Technology Entrepreneurship. I am also an avid cyclist who enjoys designing and developing innovative solutions to real-world problems, and from this combination, I founded JoinBike App, a platform aimed at revolutionizing sustainable mobility in Brazil and worldwide. By leading an amazing team of 10 people in this initiative, I was named Youth Ambassador by the US government, while JoinBike was elected the best sustainable project developed by students in South America last year. Now, making the most of my passion for technology and my experience with project management, I'm committed to continue working on projects that foster a positive socioenvironmental impact on our planet. If you're interested in learning more about my work, connecting, or exploring potential collaborations, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm eager to hear from you!

    • After being run over twice and experiencing first-hand the risks of cycling in a country where 7 cyclists die daily, I decided to create a platform that could guarantee greater safety for cyclists from all experience levels, the JoinBike App.• To make it possible, I recruited a highly qualified team of 7 students and 3 professors from the Federal Institute of Paraná, raised public and private investments, conducted market research with over 600 Brazilian cyclists, designed the app's main tools and screens, shaped marketing strategies, and coordinated the app development.• In December 2022, our project, developed entirely by public school students, alumni, and teachers, was named by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) as the best technological project developed by students across Brazil. In March 2023, JoinBike was ranked among the 40 best sustainable projects in the world in the renowned global award "The Earth Prize", surpassing thousands of environment innovations registered in the award from more than 110 countries. In June 2023, JoinBike won 2nd place nationally in the "Urban Mobility Park Award", the biggest event about Urban Mobility in Latin America, surpassing countless multimillionaire Brazilian companies.

Us Department Of Starte Oct 2022 - Jan 2023
    United States
    • The Youth Ambassadors Program is a highly selective initiative of the U.S. Department of State designed to empower young leaders who stand out in their respective communities for their notable social impact, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. • In its 2023 edition, more than 7 thousand Brazilian young leaders applied and only 50 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of less than 1%.• After being the only student from Paraná state selected for the program in 2023, I traveled to the U.S. for a 3-week exchange experience. During this opportunity, I represented Brazil at diplomatic events in the capital, Washington, DC, participated in workshops on leadership, entrepreneurship, and social impact, experienced daily life in the USA in the community of Raleigh, NC, attended classes at local schools, partnered with global young leaders, volunteered in local social impact organizations, and worked on several presentations about Brazil.
