Gustavo Adolfo Lopes Ferreira da Silva was born in Lisbon (1985) and received his first M.Sc. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Lisbon (2009), where he lectured Pharmacognosy as a prae-doc lecturer during 2009-2011. In 2010-2011, he was invited to lecture Pharmacognosy in Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz. During 2012-2013 he was a project research assistant in the Organic Chemistry, Natural and Agro-Food Products Research Unit at the University of Aveiro, where he obtained a second M.Sc. degree in Chemistry - Organic Chemistry and Natural Products (2014). In 2014, he concluded a third M.Sc. degree in Herbal Medicines at the University of Lisboa. In the following year, he received an individual PhD grant from FCT in Medicinal Chemistry and in 2022 he finished his PhD in Pharmacy with specialisation in Pharmaceutical and Therapeutical Chemistry. His research interests range from the organic synthesis to the isolation of natural products, also including pharmacological/toxicological evaluation and botanical identification of plant-derived products. He has authored scientific publications, being one of the current editors of the Journal of Natural Science, Biology and Medicine. Occasionally he is a peer-reviewer for Human & Experimental Toxicology and Molecules and other scientific journals.
