Gustavo Avellar is an entrepreneur and an engineer. He founded Serpa Investments in 2019 to help people choose better investments to apply their capital. In 2016, he founded GALT Energia, to provide services in distributed energy generation market. He used to lecture at Pitágoras College, Cogna Teaching Group, and UFMG, lecturing classes for Control Automation and Electrical Engineering undergraduate programs. He received an M.Sc. from UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais) in Electrical Engineering, with a concentration on Signal and Systems (Robotics), and a B.Sc. from the same university in Electrical Engineering, with a concentration on Process Control. As an experienced researcher in mobile robots, he developed a UAV-optimized path planning system focusing on efficiency gains using this kind of equipment as a platform for image acquisition on surveying and precision agriculture tasks. His work on the synthesis of robust controllers for non-linear systems using fuzzy logic was awarded the Academic Relevance prize on 17th Scientific Initiation Week, in 2008.Gustavo also has work experience in business and project management, sales, marketing, customer support and satisfaction, and electrical projects.
