About Gustavo S.

I am a Brazilian student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering at the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), with an expected graduation date in early September 2024.During my undergraduate studies, I gained valuable scientific and professional experiences that have contributed to the development of my skills and competencies as a Geologist Engineer.I was a Undergraduate Researcher Fellow (PROBIC-FAPERGS) from August 2021 to August 2022 on the research project "Metallogeny and Tectonic Evolution of the Porongos Complex, Brazil," where I worked 20 hours per week on research activities. I also served as a Undergraduate Technological and Innovation Fellow (PIBITI-CNPq) from September 2022 to August 2023 on the research project "Applied Hydrogeology: Case Studies in Hydrographic Basins and Aquifer Systems of Brazil," focusing on research, innovation, and technology, working 20 hours per week. Both projects were supervised by Professor Dr. Juliana Pertille da Silva.Upon completing my degree, I Exploration Geology Intern at Kinross Brasil Mineração S.A., based in the Exploration Department of the Morro do Ouro Mine in Paracatu, Minas Gerais, Brazil. I worked 30 hours per week on gold exploration geology activities in both brownfields and greenfields projects from September 2023 to July 2024. My experience at Kinross was extremely enriching, providing me with valuable insights into the workflow of mineral exploration. I developed skills in various tasks, including geological mapping, target generation, diamond drilling, core sampling, core logging, application of international QA/QC standards, geological modeling, reporting, corporate presentations, and NI-43-101 compliance.I possess multidisciplinary skills and competencies, strong communication abilities, intelligent leadership, teamwork, planning, data analysis, and the use of innovative methodologies to solve complex problems in Engineering, Geology, and Exploration.CNH B - National Driving License B (Brazil)https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Gustavo-Schmidt-Cabral
