Career Journey:Design Engineer:As a Design Engineer, I managed several product lines in the Telecommunications Industry, specifically focusing on fiber optic products used in the OSP (Outside Plant) environment. These products included FDHs/Cabinets, Splitters, and various types of closures (aerial, buried, and pole-mounted). I also developed cable assemblies (such as Drop Cables and Cable Assemblies for FDHs) following industry standards (GRs/US and IECs/EMEA). My work emphasized compliance and thorough testing.Project Manager (Global Environment):In my role as a project manager, I directed cross-functional project teams across diverse geographical locations. These projects spanned various areas, including Product Development, Sustaining, Systems integrations, and Cost Reductions. I followed the PDP (Product Development Process) guidelines, drawing from PMBOK principles.Global CR Coordinator:As the Global CR (Cost Reduction) Coordinator, I tracked and managed CR projects’ savings statuses. I collaborated closely with other functional areas, including Manufacturing, Procurement, and Operations, to execute CR initiatives effectively.R&D Manager (Leading a Team of 20-30):In my capacity as an R&D Manager, I led a team responsible for different product lines. Our work involved running various PDP projects, ensuring innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. Additionally, I supported the sustaining part of the assigned product lines.Director of Engineering (Started global, now regional):As a director of engineering, i oversee R&D teams in different countries with 5 R&D Managers reporting directly to me. Currently, I oversee the NAR R&D community for Connectivity Design and Sustaining Engineering. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, I drive strategic initiatives, foster collaboration, and contribute to the company’s growth.
