Toga Networks is an Innovation center for one of the leading cloud providers. I belong to the Public Cloud Innovation Lab and am tasked with developing disrupting core technologies & services for both tenants and internal use. My responsibilities as Chief Architect of the Cloud Applications domain are to: • Research the trends, emerging technologies & hypes• Conduct competitive & gap analyses • Provide forward-thinking vision in the form of executive reports and workshops • Build a business stories around innovations• Initiate projects • Pitch project ideas to potential internal sponsors • Formalize execution plans & budget • Define product content • Oversee high-level architecture & technology stack selection • Resolve pressing technical issues • Define UI & UX (cause backend doesn’t sell!) • Dabble in DevOps (cause I really like it)• Recruit talents • Identify & initiate academic collaborations opportunitiesI attempt to stay hands-on by developing the more challenging capabilities when I can, keeping up to pace with all the latest and greatest, and code in Java & Typescript (Backend & Frontend). Designed and implemented an end-2-end big data Client Reputation product, heuristically calculating IP based maliciousness probabilities.
