(Information Technology) Part of an agile development team (scrum). The team develops software solutions in the context of "Business Analytic and Optimization" applied to the manufacturing operations. Creates solutions for mfg optimization and quality control (efficiency, anomaly detection, monitoring). Designs and develops the architecture to scale up the B.A.O. solutions. The team creates the value chain from the manufacturing facts (measures, events) to the message delivery at the point of impact. This involves data gathering, parsing, transport and storage. It also involves the data summarization, statistical analysis and value added information delivery to: operator dash board, tool controller, storage for reporting, maintenance/tech support. All this is done in an IT group, so the solutions are robust, low maintenance, scalable and aligned to a well defined smart manufacturing architecture.

(Covering all mfg sectors) Part of a 2 persons team dedicated to problem solving by data analysis (myself + a PhD in mathematics). The team attacks the data by brute force and statistics to solve manufacturing challenges. This "data deep dive team", brings programming skills and statistical depth to existing engineering teams (domain experts). This temporary unified team deals with the most complex manufacturing challenges of the moment. The dddt tries to answer domain experts questions using the natural variance of the manufacturing data. The team extracts and cleans massive amounts of manufacturing data and hammers it with a mix of descriptive statistics, modeling and brute force to extract hidden knowledge. Ex: Searching the significant parameters related to higher failure probability from a dataset containing 950 parameters of manufacturing data. The complex statistics were addressed by our mathematician (PhD). My role was to extract and optimize the dataset according to the mathematician needs. It was my responsibility to understand, program and scale up any required statistics or mathematics into a source code that could process a massive dataset. (Mix of python, SQL and R programming). Note: As a team, we were covering the work of a highly skilled data scientist: advanced programming skills applied to data AND Very high math/stats knowledge.

(Burning stress manufacturing process and equipment) Owner of the mfg efficiency continuous improvement. Coordinates the efforts of all process and equipment engineers in their quest for manufacturing improvement (OEE, cycle time, product/equipment reliability). Conducts brainstorm/meetings to produce a continuous flow of improvement projects, most of them involving the use of computer science applied to manufacturing (mfg floor control, failure detection, diagnostic tools, operator to machine interface, data gathering/reporting). Creates prototypes for many of the ideas, writes specifications for final implementation by the IT team, manages the project on the client side, writes and manages project implementation (qualification, documentation, user training, app tech support).
