CurrentGuy Baker MRICS is CEO of the Mantle group. After a Real Estate degree at City University, and extensive high-level client side investment, development and air-related experience at Lynton Plc, Guy set up Mantle, a commercial property investor developer, which initially focussed on opportunities arising from the growth of Stansted Airport, but since the mid-nineties has operated in the wider Eastern and South-Eastern region. Mantle’s extensive track record encompasses commercial, industrial and retail development, planning promotion, and investment acquisition, enhancement and direct asset management.In 2005, Mantle acquired and developed a derelict 12 acre former priory next to Stansted called Thremhall Park, which it retains and runs directly as a serviced office business centre. Guy and the other Mantle Directors founded Mantle Business Centres, Mantle’s business centre operator arm. Mantle’s portfolio of business centres grew to include centres in Cambridge, Duxford, Chelmsford and Stevenage. Mantle has become an expert in this vibrant market, and is focused on growing the portfolio significantly over the next five years. Mantle has the unique skillset required to generate healthy investment returns through creating and running business centres from traditional offices. As CEO, Guy delivers strategic direction and overall management to the group.Guy is a Governor at Bishop’s Stortford College and has a number of interests including skiing, cycling and (social, low stakes!) poker.
