Serves on accident investigations and compliance reviews.Major Duties:-Independently conducts inspections involving any of the full range of activities such as drilling, workover/completion, production, and decommissioning, including those facilities with known safety and environmental problems or hazards.-Enforces and promotes compliance with safety and environmental requirements for a wide variety of drilling, production, workover/completion, decommissioning, facilities, operations, problems, or issues that regularly involve unique safety and environmental problems requiring new, modified, or innovative inspection and enforcement procedures due to the introduction of new/advanced systems.-Regularly serves as Lead Inspector in the inspection of the full range of facilities, complexes, and operations typically found offshore, including those with known or established safety and environmental practices.-Coordinates with senior employees on planning and scheduling inspections of the full range of major and minor offshore facilities typically encountered in the GOM OCS Region, especially those that have a persistent record of safety violations.-Investigates major accidents/incidents and/or reports of violations to regulations involving major and minor offshore facilities and operations where issues are generally unprecedented and require examination of numerous factors and conditions (e.g., explosions, fires, threats to life, safety, or the environment).-Keeps up-to-date and advises other inspectors and operators on the latest developments in the safety/ environmental arena, including Federal laws, regulations, new technology, and unusual problems in the field.
