Ordering all steal and welding materials for the boiler shop. Overseeing the workshop, making sure the repairs done. Getting providers to do repair work.

Selling automotive paints (Plascon), panel beating and spray painting. Restoring old vintage and race car bodies. Steel and non-ferrous scrap metals

Paint manufacturing – where we manufactured quick dry enamel and 2k automotive paints.Duties- Building the machines to make paint. Ordering raw material, debt collector and managing employees.

Left Barlow’s to start own plant Hire company, using Cat Machine, Toyota, and Nissan Trucks.Duties: All mechanical repairs on the engine, transmission etc.

I was approached to join Barlow’s Equipment as a counter salesman, selling caterpillar and Oshkosh truck spares. In 1986 promoted to assistant stores manager. Duties: Management of 40 members of staff, the receiving and dispatch of goods to and from all areas of the country. 1988 was promoted to head of the used parts division where my responsibilities were purchasing of used machines from auction and private sellers. Overseeing the dismantling, part numbering and stocking of each item for resale. This division grew from a one man to a multimillion rand operation within 4 years.
