CurrentUltrasonic Fiberglass Inspection and FRP component Design. The use of Ultrasonic flaw detection equipment (Epoch 1000 by Olympus) to determine the physical strength properties of Fiberglass components and vessels. The goal is to predict the need for repair or replacement of FRP structures using non-destructive methods. A chart is created to determine the life-cycle planning of industrial equipment. A Suitability of Service Analysis Report is created for each vessel that is checked to clearly display the remaining service life of process dependent equipment.I am trained to complete on site inspections in large chemical and metallurgical facilities located in countries all around the world. Some of the travel includes remote locations in North America, and also facilities in the Middle East and Asia. Inspections can be done while equipment is in operation or internally if access is provided. I follow all of the safety protocols on site and am flexible to meet the work schedule provided during shut-down situations.I use a unique proprietary software to provide the results obtained from the ultrasonic measurements. I create the technical reports sent to clients to discuss my observations and recommendations. I complete Engineering review of technical drawings for FRP fabrications from clients. We use Mathcad to develop calculations using the most up to date government standards depending on the region where the work is required. I create engineering drawings using Solidworks 3D modelling to communicate repair or construction details to outside contractors working in FRP manufacturing facilities. FMEA studies can be conducted to maximize the design of new FRP products and repairs.
