Access Creative College is a nationwide education provider with centres across the country. We specialise in the creative industries and I am currently the only Games Design (Level 3) tutor at out Manchester centre. In addition to this, I also teach Mathematics which I have done so for the past two years. This has been the first year that Access has delivered Games Design, with 18 students in Manchester and we are on target to more than double those numbers in September 2018. Responsibilities:- To write assessment schedules, assignments and delivery materials for the Level 3 qualification. - To be manage a large class, both academic and pastoral to ensure quality of work and a feeling of security are maintained.- To recruit and interview learners for the academic year 2018/19.- To achieve high retention and achievement numbers from the Games Design Level 3 course. - To ensure a high proportion of students who currently have failed their Mathematics GCSE to pass while studying with us, opening up doors to university. - To tailor delivery and content to meet both a range academic needs, and to stay up to date with a developing industry. - Recently due to our growth and personal success, I have been involved in the interview and selection process for additional Games Design tutors. Achievements: - Nomination for a BAFTA the YGD Mentor award. - Within the first five months, a student who had no prior experience in games had been contacted by a company in New York to work on a mobile game. - In February this year we were featured in the Manchester Evening Business News as one of the only providers in the city providing such a course. - High engagement and attendance from the learners with strong grades

Following on from my experience with the company, I maintained my full time admissions role with additional hours of teaching Mathematics GCSE. Responsibilities ( in addition to the responsibilities highlighted in the Admissions Support Officer role below) - To guide learners who came to the college with extreme difficulties in mathematics to passing their GCSE Achievements: - During the course of this year I and the rest of the Mathematics team increased the pass rate by 300% - Teaching and Learning Observations at grade 1

My first full time role at Access Creative College, I worked as a admissions support officer, with the goal of moving into teaching both Mathematics, and Games Design level 3 once the course had been rolled out. Responsibilities- Data management of new applications

Working freelance, for the company Access Creative College, I designed and delivered a games design course for young people attending a summer camp to give them their first experience using a game engine, Unity. From this I discovered that Access Creative College had in the pipeline to create a full time Games Design course over the next few years, and I made it my goal to be a part of the creation and delivery of this at the Manchester centre. Responsibilities - To create and deliver a repeatable week long course, that would enable young people to understand the basics of a game engine, and to take home a game that they created.
