Mazule is a trading house focusing on fuels, metals and minerals in Southern and Eastern Africa. I introduced opportunities which they funded in return for a profit percentage. Established market for Socar Trading in region against competition from entrenched suppliers such as Glencore, Trafigura, Vitol, Litasco, IPG, BP, Engen and Sasol• Introduced metal and mineral trading opportunities to Mazule, Nickel, Copper and Coal• Introduced trading bulk paraffin from Botswana into Zimbabwe. We sold 7500 tons(200 road tankers). I negotiated the deal with the suppliers in Botswana(Engen Botswana and Chevron Botswana ). Botswana paraffin exports were being done on an adhoc basis, I saw the opportunity to systemize the supply chain and target the large Zimbabwean offtakers Notable Achievements• We were the 2nd largest paraffin supplier behind www.ipg.com.kw in 2nd month of operation.• The successful introduction of a major oil company into Zimbabwe with all the inherent perceptions of country risk and meeting revenue targets.Head of Marketing & Supply Macron Petroleum 05.2006 – 04.2010Overview – • I was responsible for sourcing oil feedstock for Macron’s small topping refinery in Jebel Ali, UAEwww.macronpetroleum.com Macron Petroleum primarily trades in the Americas, crude oil mainly.I focused on Africa.• I got the contract with Petromoc www.petromoc.co.mz to remove 3000 tons of fuel oil/diesel/watermixture from their tank farm in Matola, Mozambique. It was classified as waste oil. We set up the logistics and pumped it all out into 150 bulk liquid flexitanks and shipped to Jebel Ali for reprocessinginto diesel and fuel oil. Our competition was Rand Merchant Bank and FFS Refiners www.ffs-refiners.com on this contract.
