Dear Reader,I got into politics like many people who care about local issues do. It's largely the realization that there is no conspiracy. Large groups of people are simply difficult to make improvements in society for and with. Thus I have come to believe, like many before me, that to ensure that our institutions serve to function for real people we need serious, dedicated, and committed people to get elected to offices of public trust who will essentially do the day-in and day-out work of listening to and communicating effectively with constituents who have diverse sets of needs, various degrees of civic knowledge, and ultimately very human stakes in the prosperity of their communities within which we all essentially live together as neighbors, peoples, and Americans first.More specifically, from running for State Assembly in 2023 I noticed that where I live in New Jersey's 23rd Legislative District, which incorporates most of Warren, north and west Hunterdon, and north and west Somerset counties that there was a major gap in the Democratic Party's ability to win elections due to a sincere differential in Party registration numbers since the last redistricting. Yet having spent a considerable amount of time getting to meet voters 1-on-1 in District from personally knocking on thousands of doors, attending municipal meetings, and community events I found that I was and continue to be in a unique position to help the Party build here.Working closely with Municipal Committees, County Committees, and State Committees - their members and leadership alike, I intend to do just that. My current mission is to help the Democratic Party organize at the grassroots level, to help identify and support candidates for local elections, and to Get Out The Vote every cycle.What do you think?-Guy
