I am now full time retired.After a successful police career, I retired as a Chief Superintendent after completing 30 years service. I then qualified and taught History at local secondary schools before taking an adult gap year to do some home improvements, travelling and Volcano climbing. I have now working as the Children and Young Persons Development Officer with the Woking Community Safety Team which utilises both my police and teaching experience. I am responsible for coordinating and delivering the Integrated Youth Strategy. I also get to organise and deliver holiday trips and activities for local young people. I have significant leadership experience as a Divisional and Departmental Commander leading large teams, (600 plus) with large budgets (£20 million), building partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver critical public services under considerable scrutiny. I have led and delivered force wide and national projects, including the roll out of crime mapping on behalf of the Home Office. Internationally I served in Kosovo on behalf of the European Union United Nations Mission, where I mentored the deputy Chief Constable Atifete Jahjaga, who has subsequently become President of Kosovo.I was an accredited firearms and major incident commander and security vetted.I have first degree in politics from Southampton University, have completed almost a half of another degree in History from the Open University and have now qualified to teach History to secondary schools via the University of Sussex.I am passionate and resilient.
