Guy is an architect and the president of Donahoe Group, a firm he established in 2001. He has professionally practiced architecture since 1983 where he began as a designer for a timber frame company. Guy’s specialty has been in residential design and has designed homes from Massachusetts to Hawaii & Denver to St. Thomas. One of the lucky few, Guy’s passion for the study of building design and construction goes back to his early teens and as he says ‘has yet to let him down’. The pursuit of knowledge in building continues to fill much of his free time today.Guy contributes his success having had many valuable mentors in both building as well as architecture. Having had many opportunities to be involved in the entire process of design, construction and delivery has given him a great appreciation for the needs, the limits, and the communication required for a successful project. Additionally his ability to listen & hear the desires of his clients has allowed for thoughtful and considerate solutions.Guy taught an architectural technology course at a local collage for several years and has provided hundreds of hours of pro bono work for local charitable and not-for-profit organizations. His many years of experience have made him a master of the Gestalt principles in architecture, the ability to bring together the many considerations in the midst of the design process composing a solution that will meet all of the program requirements whilst achieving design balance.
