I have 25 years’ experience in the retirement village and aged care sector. I bought my first resthome in 1990 having completed 3 years at Delloittes. In 2000 I established NZ Lifecare Limited (NZLC) and grew it to 15 homes throughout the country. During this time I chaired the Auckland branch of the Resthome Association. In 2005 I sold NZLC to what is now Oceania and joined Macquarie Group. Whilst at Macquarie I served as an asset manager and on the Board of both Oceania and Metlifecare. I also served on the Board of the NZ Aged Care Association and the Retirement Villages Association. More recently I spent two and a half years as Chairman and CEO of Oceania one the largest aged care providers in NZ employing in excess of 3,000 people and caring for over 4,000 of the nation’s elderly.I am married to Melanie and have three teenage children. We are all snow skiers and keen on many other outdoor pursuits. I am a member of Auckland Rotary and Royal Auckland Golf Club. I believe I have proven ability to both manage and develop aged care and retirement village product coupled with over ten years’ experience in serving on our industry associations.
