I see engineering problems in everything and try to understand how things around us are built. I am a professional engineer and I specialize in the FEA of structural systems, with an emphasis on structural dynamics and vibration prediction and mitigation.My professional experience includes 18 years in academia where I have taught several courses related to the stress analysis, structural dynamics and modeling of structures. I have successfully led the implementation of several innovative strategies with the goal to improve student learning. I have also held leadership positions in academia, including Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Université Laval as well as at the University of Calgary Schulich School of Engineering. In these roles, I continuously strove to build win-win partnerships with external stakeholders. I also had to deal with challenging financial constraints and implement cost-cutting measures.I combine my experience in these large and complex organizations with my passion for engineering to optimize workflows and design safer and better products. I am passionate about training the next generation of engineers and I try to share my experience with those around me who can benefit from it.The thing that I am most passionate about these days is the implication of AI and machine learning on engineering. I read everything I can find on this topic and try to stay ahead of the curve.
