At CGI I worked on various projects for different clients in public sector, banking and insurance sectors. As a Java developer I gained experience in different agile and waterfall projects.

I worked within the Fizzback Technical Consultancy team customising and delivering real-time customer feedback solutions. The main challenges were in understanding the business requirements, making changes to the look and feel of the web survey pages, web and sms pushers, alert handling, reports and to the transaction and hierarchy loaders to provide integration with the incoming client data. The product is Java based with the front-end written in different scripting languages including Python, Velocity, HTML, Javascript and CSS.

Working as part of the Professional Services team, my responsibility was in developing customisations for various clients. The requirements varied from changing the look and feel of the Knowledge Base to more complex requirements that required integration work. Some of the technologies that I worked on included Javascript, Jquery, CSS, HTML, Core Java, JSPs, Sql Server. Some of the projects involved client visits to clarify on the requirements and producing technical design documents.

Here at BT Fresca I have been gaining valuable experience in the eCommerce arena working on enhancements for retailers’ websites and fixing defects raised against the application. Some of our clients are Liberty, Warehouse, Oasis, SnowAndRock and Matalan. Working on different parts of the system in the past 2 years has given me a thorough understanding of the different components of the eCommerce web applications. I went on a hibernate training course to bring me up to speed with the technology and have successfully completed a hibernate exam aimed for internal application developers. Working in the application development technical support team, my main responsibilities have been in resolving technical issues escalated by the support team, and also working on functional enhancements. Other teams that I have worked closely with from time to time are the application development, client services, web development, QA & testing, Support and Project Management teams.
