Content Supply Chain InnovationI'm currently leading an Innovation Workstream within a major initiative to transform Sky’s Content Supply Chain into one, more efficient pipeline better able to provide our customers what they want while being responsive to the rapidly-changing competitive landscape. The team identifies, researches, and accelerates innovative products, solutions and services beneficial to the programme. The work has a broad remit with the most promising effort currently focused on using AI, specifically Machine Learning, and its application in content processing workflows.

Transforming and relocating Sky NewsI lead the technology work-stream in a Sky News transformation programme locating it with Sports and Sports News in our TV and digital production centre. Nearly everyone and 500 technical positions were relocated to create space for News, its new virtual reality studio, production facilities and a state of the art network operations centre. Every system was innovated placing stories at the heart of the Sky News workflow on a unique, integrated production asset management and newsroom application platform.

Strategic OTT linear deliveryAn initiative to move Sky’s Now TV and Go linear OTT products to a strategic platform was failing and I was brought in to get it on track. My team mixed traditional disciplines and Agile methods and successfully migrated 20 of Sky’s most popular channels improving the quality of experience for our customers.

London Olympics 2012One of my most satisfying roles was providing the BBC’s Olympic feeds across the UK's Sky, Freesat and Virgin platforms. After only gaining approval in March this unique Sky/BBC partnership provided unprecedented coverage of the London Olympics. My project team deployed facilities into BBC and Sky sites and the simultaneous launch of 48 live sports channels was a first.

Digital satellite systems refreshTo ensure continued protection of Sky’s satellite TV service my programme refreshed the heart of the platform. Leading a team of 3 project managers in 2014 we completed migration of 6 major software components without any impact to our 11 million customers.

Sky On DemandFrom initiation to launch in 2009 as Sky’s Anytime+ service I managed a group of software and solution content delivery projects within Sky's On Demand environment. I covered the complete work-flow from ingest to CDN against challenging QoS and bit-rates.

Sky Interactive Managed various back-end and set top box software projects.

JR is a leading provider of customer provisioning software solutions to digital TV and broadband service providers. As a customer-facing senior project manager, delivered various solutions to clients located in the UK, EU, USA & Japan.In 2001 took on the role of project director leading a team of project managers responsible for all customer solution deliveries.

Leading a team responsible for the global delivery and support of Windows and UNIX infrastructure and services. Position included managing customer relationships for the delivered solutions.

Located in the Hague within the R&D division tasked with analysing IT trends and their application in Shell's global Exploration and Production business. Our scope ranged from the use of the emerging collaborative technologies through to specialist platforms supporting the engineering, geophysics and geology disciplines.
