I have a very varied operations management background, having spent 17 years in the British Army ending up as a Major and Second in Command of a tank regiment of over 450 men. After leaving the Army, I have spent the last 22 years filling a variety of project management/co-ordinator roles in the oil and gas industry, in particular using my planning, co-ordination and communication skills to manage projects for EnQuest, Nexen, Petrofac and Ineos. Recently, I have specialised in Walk to Work Projects, working both onshore as a co-ordinator (including running the vessel tender process) and also offshore as a marine rep. I have completed W2W campaigns with Repsol, Spirit Energy, Ineos and Bluewater.I am currently not working and am using my time to help local community groups and charities to secure grants for projects. I would however be very interested in any potential project work.

This included managing interfaces both within the company and outside the company, and in particular I was responsible for managing the interface relationship with BP for the export of Buzzard oil, including advising Nexen’s Managing Director. I was awarded a Chairman’s special award in 2008. I was promoted to Engineering Project Delivery Team Lead and was responsible for a £20 Million per year E&C contract and also for the development of Nexen’s gate review process for engineering projects, including leading gate reviews. I also updated Nexen's Engineering Change process, improving the co-ordination between the producing assets and the E&C contractor.

My last role I was responsible for the operations and training of 550 personnel and 150 vehicles including 50 Challenger main battle tanks. Before that I led 95 soldiers on operations in Northern Ireland and spent 2 years being responsible for procurement of £60 Million training aids project to support new Challenger 2 Tank. I was selected for early promotion and also for the Army's Senior Management Course (part of the top 20% of my year group).
