As an intern with Nielsen I gained valuable working experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Good-industry. Besides, being trained in presentation skills and Excel skills, I worked together with analytical consultants on business intelligence insights for FMCG clients. In example, for Unilever I analysed several markets whether there were growth opportunities for Unilever brands in the premium price segment. Also, I did some (internal) projects for Nielsen. I was involved in three projects. First, I helped with making a database overview for internal purposes. The method I used to create this database overview was so practical and easy to maintain that Nielsen Belgium will also implement this method. Second, I made a retail landscape overview of Europe. This overview was requested by Jumbo, but was also send out to several Nielsen offices in Europe. And lastly, my biggest project was integrating Brandbank data with Nielsen data. This project was the first project that brought the sales data of Nielsen and the package information of Brandbank together, resulting in interesting and valuable insights about the growth of marketing claims, third party logos and ‘hot’ ingredients.Besides all of this, I was responsible for:- Creating/adjusting/updating (sales) reports of big companies as Beiersdorf, Mars, P&G, AS Watson, Danone and Nestle.- Answering day-to-day questions of clients about data, reports and more.
