Currently I am working as a KYC Analyst, specialising in the payments industry, which plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating risks associated with money laundering, fraud, and financial crime.My BAU tasks are to conduct thorough due diligence on new and existing customers, assess their risk profiles, and verify their identities and business activitiesThis position requires a deep understanding of the local regulations that govern us, as well as payment industry regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance standards are met.I also conduct comprehensive KYC checks on new and existing customers, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines, and internal policiesReview customer documentation, including merchant applications, financial statements, legal agreements, and beneficial ownership information.Evaluate the adequacy and accuracy of customer-provided information and perform risk assessments based on established criteria & investigate and resolve any red flags, inconsistencies, or suspicious activities identified during the customer due diligence processCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as Underwriting, Compliance, Legal and Risk, to obtain additional information or clarify discrepancies.Stay updated on evolving local and payment industry regulations, card scheme rules, and best practices to ensure compliance with applicable standardsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer due diligence activities, including audit trails, risk assessments, and supporting documentation.Assist in the development and enhancement of KYC policies, procedures, and tools specific to the payments industry to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Provide training and support to other team members on KYC processes, industry requirements, and emerging risks.Previously I was working as a Financial Crime operations analyst within a growing Fintech. I have been supporting onboarding new clients and payees, some of which entail complex corporate structures and ownership drilldowns. Previously worked as a Senior Risk and Compliance Analyst working within a Fin-tech company. Previously an Experienced Fraud Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in the banking industry.
