Responsible for complete operations of two manufacturing plants in Youngwood, and Ruff Dale Pa. and one in Ypsilanti Mi. We manufacture finished carbide and steel tooling for a variety of industries, oil and gas, automotive, medical, and many others.

I am commanding officer of this unit which is a youth development organization based on Navy Core Values with outstanding training opportunities for youth ages 10-18. We drill one weekend a month with extra drills during certain months. This unit has won numerous regional and national awards and has a number of strong working partners that help the unit improve and provide trainings and skills enhancements for the cadets.. I also assist is training planning, organization and instruction as well as oversee the entire units operations. We have a very dedicated staff of officers and instructors many that have been with the program a considerable time. We celebrated our 50th year in August 2014.

University Of Pittsburgh Manufacturing Assistance Center

I was an instructor of Manual Machining, Print Reading for Manufacturing, CNC programming, and CNC operations. We use the latest textbooks and techniques to teach all subjects to prepare our students for entry into the workforce. Our program is a very demanding 15 or 19 week program that demands considerable study time and performance from our students.

We manufactured a varity of components for the transit industry, automotive and other markets. We did compression molding, injection molding, transfer molding, hand layup and machining. I handled complete plant operations, scheduling on machines and labor, inventory management, equipment and building maintence, job costing, customer interaction, etc.

South Bend, Indiana Area

Oversaw the daily operations of a compound manufacturing operation and composites molding operation. We manufactured various blends of low pressure and regular molding compounds for customer use and also manufactured components from those materials for automotive, construction, military, electrical, transportation and other clients. I was responsible for all plant operations to bring the company to full profit and function after the ownership bought the company out of bankrupcty. I established work regualtions, safety plans, employee training plans, Helped in the restructuring of the administrative duties, trained the staff in the accounting software and other software we selected, trained the employees in OSHA, DOT, FEMA and other regulations as needed. Restructured the production processes to make them more functional and efficient, Restructured the plant and other buildings to make work flow and production more efficient.

I was responsible for the development of various projects, like the optical keyboard for the handicapped in joint project with AT&T and IBM to permit disabled to communicate and operate devices thru a optical based keyboard unit. Assisted in the development of the real time event recorder for the railroad industry which permitted them to get information from the event units instantly and remotely rather than via tranlastion unit on site. Also assisted in development of other handicapped and rail road devices. We also developed software for DOS, Windows and Unix based systems. I was the principle developer of an Integrated Accounting and Manufacturing Process Software system written in Cobol to run on Unix based systems. We also operated computer and software training programs on a number of DOS, Windows and Unix based software packages. We where also involved in database design and implementation for our customers,

A complete range of automotive diagnosis and repairs. Provided the customers the information on the problems with their vehicles, solution options,cost and time factors for their repairs. I was also only one of two mechanics trained and authorized to do complete rust proofing of vehicles and detailing of customer vehicles as they requested it.

I worked for the Department of Physiology as the Supervisor and Lead Laboratory Animal Technician for the large number of research animals that the department maintained and assisted in conducting experiments as required. I was an ALAS certified Laboratory Animal Technologist. I over saw the daily operations of the entire animal research faclities working with monkeys, dogs, rabbits, pigs, sheep, rats, mice, and other animals involved in many different research applications. I supervised a staff of five technicans and five lab aids. We handled not only the animal care but the bulk of the research duties, such as blood sampling, assisting in surgery, treatment of animals with medications and other required medical procedures. I handled staff scheduling, material ordering, and maintained the interaction between my staff and the doctors and post doctorate research staff.
