An interesting journey to where I am now, being a Librarian led to University Adviser helping students choose and apply for some of the best Universities in the world, now I work for ARU in Cambridge UK, helping our students gain valuable work experience while they are completing their degree. The skills I gathered on the way, picking up 2 master's degrees, helping students get into UC Davis, Cambridge, Melbourne, Sydney, AUT, Auckland, Kentucky universities to list some of them, and the interpersonal skills that one picks up over 55 years, all play a massive role in working with students, employers, and co-workers.Apparently, I relate well to students- that's because each one is important- a son or a daughter, who needs a little help, help I didn't get, and help I want my 3 children to get from someone when they need it.Life is not always a win, but- as I told one of my daughter's football teams years ago- it's only a loss if you learned nothing from it, so, enjoy the wins, learn from the losses, and don't be scared to relocate at 54 halfway around the world- it has its perks
