I am a dedicated designer-maker of ceramic tiles, currently work in stoneware. The clay is rolled flat and then the tiles are individually cut out by hand, before being allowed to dry. After the first firing, the glazes are mixed entirely from raw materials and applied to the work prior to going through the kiln for a second time to a temperature of 1240C. Each process is carried out by hand and as such, can take time. However, every tile that is produced is unique and special, never to be found anywhere else. The beauty is in the subtle variation of colour and texture.Whilst always keeping an eye on current trends I also take inspiration from a variety of sources including Scandinavian textiles, midcentury ceramics, Victorian tiles and the geometric repetition found in Islamic tile work and zellige.I currently sell my work directly to customers, both private and commercial.I am open for any enquiries from private customers, interior designers, architects and anybody else that may find my work appropriate for their projects.
