As Principal Arboriculturist and a co-founder of Enviroscope Consulting Ltd, I manage the arboricultural element of the business and develop business opportunities for the company. I work with a wide range of clients; all of whom need to understand and manage trees for positive outcomes. I collaborate with clients to address concerns; seeking to minimise the constraints trees pose to client objectives and maximise the positives trees offer.I provide BS 5837 Tree Surveys, Arboricultural Impact Assessments, Tree Constraint and Tree Protection Plans and all associated reporting for planning applications. I have the expertise to advise on challenging scenarios, and as a former local authority tree officer I have an excellent knowledge of trees in relation to planning. I am highly experienced in practical tree mitigation and can provide specialist advice on tree-related planning issues, and being experienced and expert in the field, I can advise on difficult and constrained sites. During construction I also provide Arboricultural Clerk of Works duties and practical advice. I am a certified QTRA user and carry out tree condition, risk and safety assessments using this and other methodologies. I have also been accredited by the Consulting Arborists Society (CAS) to prepare Mortgage and Insurance Tree Reports.I specialise in survey of veteran trees and parkland tree management and restoration, offering rural estates and gardens and arboretums tree management planning and grant advice. Advice is supported by GPS tree mapping, GIS based tree inventories, tree tagging and new woodland design and tree planting advice.I deliver the highest quality consultancy on each and every project. My field work is accurate, recommendations are balanced and robust and report-writing and plans are well-written and presented - giving clients great confidence. Our services are measured by their success and evidenced in repeat clients and long-term business relationships.

My role within WYG was to develop arboriculture at a regional and national level; promoting the discipline and its relevance within the company and supporting bids and tenders outside the company. In addition to this business development role, I delivered the arboricultural consultancy co-ordinating and carrying out tree surveys, arboricultural impact assessments and method statements and managing the work of assistant arboriculturalists in the team.
