Having complete control and autonomy over the Metro Bank “Data Solutions”, its team and its budget, I am responsible for leading the Data Services function. This can take form of Kimball designed Data Marts, presented to reporting tools such as Power Bi. It also takes the shape of data to run the banks digital channels, ensuring highly available data is ready for online banking apps and other digital offerings in near real time. I have created a highly performant team from 2 people to over 40 in less than three years. I have introduced governance, controls, metadata management, dashboards, BAU operational activities, team structure, individual progression plans as well as SLA’s, controls and auditing. Consuming differing source systems from Oracle, SQL server, DB2, Hadoop, to provide both tactical and strategic data warehouses, via Teradata, SAS and Hadoop (cloudera) data marts.
