Moving Picture, Audio and Data Coding by Artificial Intelligence (MPAI), an international not-for-profit organization established in Switzerland created by Leonardo Chiariglione inventor of MPEG and the MPEG Association. A new organization dedicated to data compression standards based on Artificial Intelligence. MPAI aims at stimulating and standardizing applying "usable AI - possibly explainable" for image, audio and data compression.

Neuroptics Technologies was founded in Montpellier (France) for the purpose of developing artificial vision devices based on silicon neural networks. After inventing the ZISC architecture concept with IBM, and consulting for GIAT Industries (French Defence Industries) the activitity was moved in the Bay Area (San Francisco) in August 1996.

Nestor Europe was established in Montpellier (France) in 1991,as a joint venture between Nestor USA ( co-founded by Pr. Leon N. Cooper -Nobel Prize co-winner 1972 - and Pr. Charles Elbaum), and Dassault Electronique. We designed the first Trainable Vision System (Image Learning Box) based on NLS (Nestor Learning System software). Pr. Leon Cooper was the Chairman of Nestor Europe.

Europixels developed vision applications based on software neural network (NLS Nestor) and was a value added distributor for Nestor USA (Providence RI) and Recognita (Budapest Hungary - now Nuance Recognita).

Data Sud Systems (DSS) focused on a complete VME line of products. The company developed the first VME digital video acquisition board set in 1981. In 1983, DSS developed with the CERN UA1 the largest parallel processing configuration (more than 100 VME CPU's in parallel) for the UA1 pretrigger allowing Pr. Carlo Rubbia (Nobel Price co-winner 1984) to observe the bosons particles that he predicted. In 1985, DSS was chosen to supply all the data concentrators for the French Plan Cable (wiring of main cities with fiber optics in 1986). The job was to assist and train Motorola microprocessor users and investigate new design. The processors used were MC6800 . MC68000 and MECL processor MC10800.

Developed video surveillance systems and notably in 1976, a large video camera network (70 cameras) for the French bank "Credit Agricole" with automatic zone presence detection using Motorola MC6800 MIcroprocessor
