Responsible to investigate or supervise investigations of all felonious offenses within the Town of Burrillville; to include but not limited too, homicides, suspicious deaths, fraud, narcotics, sexual assaults, assaults and property crimes. Co-chairman of the Town Safety Committee, which evaluates safety plans and protocols of potential targets or hazardous location within the community. To conduct all hazard threat assessments for potential targets and all schools in the Burrillville School District. Member of the Active Shooter Team for tactical response, training, and equipment. Supervise and manage all evidence to ensure chain-of-custody and retention. Supervise and direct court prosecutions. Member of SOLEMN, Federal Task Force based out of the the US Marshal's Office, which manages sexual offenders within the State of Rhode Island and Town of Burrillville.

Supervised all three shifts of the patrol division. Supervise and train officers assigned to my command. Be familiar with department rules, policies, regulations, procedures and developments in the law that affects the department and the officers in my command. Review officers under my command to ensure that they are properly, effectively and consistently performing their duties. Accountability for the actions and omissions of subordinates.Implement orders received from the chain of command. Respond to emergencies, incidents or dispatches as required. Review officer’s reports to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.Conduct roll calls, issue assignments and brief officers as to any information pertinent to effectively carrying out their duties and officer safety issues. Ensure all equipment entrusted to the care of officers under their supervision is properly used and maintained to prevent loss and/or damage.

Worked with my canine counterpart, Conan, as a National and State certified K-9 team in the field of narcotic detection, tracking and criminal apprehension.

Worked uniformed patrol of all three shifts. '91-'98 as a K-9 Handler.
