EOanalytics provides custom geospatial mapping and analysis, from near-surface including UAV/ drone applications to satellite remote sensing analysis.

I am a researcher and geospatial analyst for the Environment, Soils, and Land Use Department or the Teagasc Crops, Environment, and Land Use Programme (CELUP).

I am currently working on a project to develop an effective remote sensing method for forest disturbance detection in Ireland's small and discontinuous forested areas, as part of an EU Kyoto-protocol greenhouse gas monitoring initiative.

I do crop production analysis using remote sensing and GIS for the USDA Foreign Agricultural Services Office of Global Analysis. I am also involved in determining sensor needs for agricultural remote sensing, and remote sensing of crop residue (non-photosynthetic vegetation) cover and soil organic carbon.

I researched remote sensing methods for crop residue (non-photosynthetic or senescent vegetation/ plant litter) cover and soil carbon. As part of this research I helped validate the effectiveness of the Cellulose Absorption Index (CAI) for a global soil spectral library and develop the Shortwave Infrared Normalized Difference Residue Index (SINDRI), which works alsmost as well as CAI but requires only two spectral bands (ASTER SWIR 6 & 7).

In this position I taught three courses:• Environmental Geology (GEO 100). Spring 2006, 1 section primary lecturer, 2 sections substitute lecturer for 1 month. Geologic processes, how they affect people and vice versa; geologic hazards, earthquake impact, shoreline development, offshore oil, waste disposal, water, energy and other resources, climate change.• Understanding the Earth (GEO 103). Fall 2005, Spring 2006, primary lecturer for two sections. Course description: Processes operating within and upon the earth. Relationship of plate tectonics to volcanism, earthquakes, and mountain building. Development and modification of landscapes by rivers, glaciers, wind, waves, and ground water. Environmental implications of geologic processes.• Senior/ Graduate Special Topics in Environmental Soil Science/ Vadose Zone Hydrology (GEO 591). Fall 2005, primary lecturer. Course description: Advanced research and presentation work in environmental soil science/ vadose zone hydrology under the supervision of the instructor, and is designed to suit the individual requirements of the student.

I performed research on using near-surface suspended monostatic horn antenna-based ground penetrating radar for assessing soil water content dynamics over several soils, both bare and vegetated.
