As a Project Coordinator for Paramount, I wear many hats including overseeing the overall operations of the company. In this position I also assisted maintenance and I&E departments where I acquired various mechanical skills in welding, machining, conveyor fabrication, and electrical skills including automation troubleshooting and repair, AC motor replacement up to 4160 V and became familiar with electrical systems up to 155 KV. Normally, assigned areas include the boilers and associated systems such as fans, grates, combustor, ash and air pollution control systems, the reverse osmosis system, and the testing of water chemistry. I am responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment in accordance with the established plant operating procedures. Additionally I am responsible for recording data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends which indicate possible trouble, and manipulating plant equipment to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.Part of my duties include preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment including fire alarm pull stations, flow switches, sprinkler maintenance and foam systems. During plant outages I assist the maintenance department as needed to preform various inspections and repairs.
